It’s this time of the year again – the beginning of … well, a new year in which normal people talk about their New Year’s resolutions while all the readers talk about the books being released in the next 365 days. To be fair – there are quite a lot of books coming out every year and keeping an eye on all of them isn’t the easiest thing. I won’t exclude myself from this group because while thinking about this blog post, I made several lists to keep track of all the releases I didn’t want to miss. And yes, those lists weren’t identical since I always missed one or two books in my enumeration. Still, I picked out my Top Ten of book releases I don’t want to miss in 2019.
Planned as a blog post series of four parts, the buddy read for The Cruel Prince by Holly Black ended somehow different than imagined. Instead of four weeks we all finished the books after only three, but took our time to further discuss it. All in all we did use the four weeks we had planned originally. So I myself took time to write this last post. It will be a bit different from the ones before. I won’t be answering the questions of the catalogue as we did every weekend. Instead I want to talk about the experience of my first buddy read and about the awesome girls I shared it with as well as another planned buddy read!
Being part of a buddy read is one thing – being part of a group buddy read is one thing else entirely. I realized that in my second week of taking part in said group buddy read with the girls and Holly Black’s The Cruel Prince. But especially things like that make a buddy read so interesting.
It has been a while since I last posted on my blog. But it is okay with me because I had a lot to do with family, friends, work and my personal life overall. Still I can’t get my mind off of blogging (or reading for that matter). So with the new year still in blooming I decided to participate in something I never did before – a buddy read, hosted by my fellow german instagrammer Ariana over at @solaire_writing. Because this is all new to me, I decided to share my experience with you in a post series of four parts.
